Community Meals

Are you and/or your family hungry? Come on over, you’re welcome here. Do you want to hang out and meet folks? Great! Are you a super-cheap date? Cool.

Everyone is welcome at our free community meals. They are served at 18 N College Street in Athens on

Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. and
Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

As you come in the door, there is a pantry table that has both food and hygiene products for anyone who needs them. You may even find a COVID test.

During the holiday season, we need to move some meals around, so please double-check See our Google calendar to confirm when we’re open.

More Free Community Meals

We are part of the Athens Ohio Free Community Meals Network, a large committee built from organizations like Athens Food Rescue, Cat’s Cupboard/OU Basic Needs Office, Community Food Initiative (CFI), First Presbyterian Church of Athens, HAPCAP, and Rural Action’s Zero Waste Project. Together, we work to address our neighbors’ food insecurity and social isolation.

Volunteer

Help serve a hot, nutritious meal. This opportunity is great for individuals, classes, residence hall activities, campus or community organizations. Since we started serving meals in 1993, volunteers have worked together to plan, prepare, set-up, serve, and clean up afterward. Volunteers make a HUGE difference! Individuals can sign up through GivePulse, or you are always welcome to email connect@ucmathens.org to sign up yourself or your group. Thank you!
